Profile of Ronald E. Ostman
Ronald E. Ostman grew up in International Falls, Minnesota. He is the author of several academic books and many scholarly journal articles. Ostman holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in journalism and mass communications from the University of Minnesota and a B.A. in English from Bemidji State University. He is professor and chair of the Department of Communication at Cornell University, where he has taught and conducted research since 1979. Ostman lives near Lansing with his wife, Nancy. Their children are RaeEllen and Andrew.

Harry Littell grew up in Alfred, New York. His work focuses on the communities, architecture, and landscape of the upstate region. Since moving to Ithaca in 1991, he has worked as a carpenter, artist, and photographer. Littell holds an A.A.S. in photography from the Rochester Institute of Technology, a B.F.A. in fine arts from Cornell University, and an M.F.A. in sculpture from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. He lives with his wife, Patricia Fox, and two daughters, Nora and Charlotte.
