How do I order?
Near each book description there is an "Add to Cart" button. When you click on that button, your selection will be added to your shopping cart. If you plan to order multiple books, please click on the "Continue Shopping" button instead of your web browser’s "Back" button after placing items in the shopping cart. Otherwise you may have trouble adding additional books.
How can I pay for orders?
You can pay for online orders or phone orders with a Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover card. Of course, we are also happy to accept mail orders paid by these credit cards or by check or money order.
Is it safe to order from the McBooks Press site?
Yes. Our shopping cart is on a secure server. In many years of selling on the web, we have never had any complaint about a security breach.
Do you sell other historical fiction, such as books by Showell Styles or Kenneth Roberts?
Not at this time.
McBooks Press is mostly a book publisher. We license rights to literary works and then design and arrange for the manufacture of books. We sell the books to bookstores and specialty shops as well as to individuals. As a service to our customers, we enjoy seeking out, stocking, and selling new, used, or imported copies of books by our authors, even if we don’t publish a particular title. Therefore, we can be your one-stop source for ALL the Douglas Reemans, Dewey Lambdins, and Dudley Popes. To make some other fine historical novels available to a wider audience, we also sell Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey Maturin books, C.S. Forester's Horatio Hornblower novels, and Richard Woodman’s Drinkwater series and William H. White’s War of 1812 Trilogy.
Do you search for used out-of-print books for customers?
Yes, we can. Please e-mail us, tell us what book you are looking for, and whether you want it in hardcover or paperback, whether it needs to be a first edition, what condition you want it in, and whether you will be satisfied with an ex-library book. We will search other book dealers and quote you a price. Once we get your OK, we will buy the book on your behalf and ship it to you.
Book dealers usually describe a complete but well-read, worn paperback as "good" and a nicer copy with few creases, except to the spine as "very good." A "near fine" paperback is in very nice shape. Hardcovers have two grades: one for the book itself and one for the jacket. Thus "Near Fine/Very Good" means that the book itself is in nice condition and the jacket is OK but clearly worn. Ex-library books (discarded by the library) are considered undesirable to collectors because of their markings, but they can be inexpensive reading copies.
How do you ship books?
We use two fast and reliable methods: US Postal Service Priority Mail and UPS. It usually takes us one business day to process your order and another two to UPS have an individual tracking number. You can call or e-mail us for the tracking number, and then you can track your package’s journey yourself on UPS’s website.
Is my order guaranteed?
Yes. Your satisfaction is guaranteed. If your books arrive damaged, we will replace them. (Please call us and then hang onto the package and packing material in case FedEx wants to inspect it.) If you change your mind, ordered the wrong books, or if you simply don’t like them, you can return the books for a refund.
